2009 Year In Review
Wow! What a year 2009 was. I think it’s safe to say that it was a roller-coaster ride. Despite that bumpy, up-and-down experience, the worst seems to be over. I’m not saying that it’ll be easy from here on, but it does seem that business is starting to increase again. One key thing that smart companies can learn from a recession like we’ve just experienced is survival. We’ve all had to shift how we do business…to do smart business. Those that continued to do things the “same old way” I’m sure are either gone or hurting. It was a year of watching expenses. It was a year of working twice as hard to win deals. It was a time where we all had to prove the return on investment (ROI) to our customers. It was also a year, however, where when teams pulled together, good things happened. That is how I feel when I look back on 2009 and see how we at in the EMJ division of SYNNEX fared. It wasn’t easy, but thanks to you – our customers – we had a successful year. That means that you were successful, too.

AIDC / Data Collection
- Several key wins this past year were with Intermec, Motion Computing and Psion Teklogix solutions around worker efficiency, regulation compliancy and healthcare
- We have expanded our mobility offerings to you with the addition of the full Honeywell line as well as introducing General Dynamics-Itronix to our line card
- OKI Data enthusiastically launched a full line of printers aimed at the barcode market
- Expanded our support to you by hiring a Psion Teklogix Business Development Manager
POS
- While the retail industry struggled in 2009, we saw several very large wins in hospitality and grocery markets
- We saw Digital Signage and Kiosk engagement increase
- Expanded our customer support by bringing on an Epson POS Business Development Manager
Professional Video and Home Integration
- New JVC Professional products helped drive successful business in broadcast, studio, education markets through improved video workflow and physical camera size
- Home Theatre also saw a spike with the launch of several new Professional Projectors.
Physical Surveillance Security
- Continued market growth of 40%+, year over year
- EMJ won Axis Communications Canadian Distributor of the Year (a special thank you goes out to our Axis customers)!
- Increased our security and network training nationally – even more coming in 2010
